Andy Cohen Explains Why There's a Real Housewives in Salt Lake City
"It feels like its own thing, which is why it works so well," The Real Housewivesexecutive producer said.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was announced as the next Real Housewives franchise almost one year ago today at BravoCon 2019. But if even as the series nears its premiere on Wednesday, November 11 at 10/9c, you've been wondering why Salt Lake City was chosen as the newest Real Housewives franchise, executive producer Andy Cohen has the answer for you.
During an #AskAndy Q&A on Twitter on Tuesday, November 10, one fan asked Andy, "What other Real Housewives [city] is most like Salt Lake City?" "None, and that's why we did it," Andy explained. "It feels like a Real Housewives, but there's skiing, they have various intersections with the Mormon religion, which makes it really interesting, it's a diverse group. It feels like its own thing, which is why it works so well."
The RHOSLC ladies share all of the "hidden treasures" of Salt Lake City, as cast member Mary Cosby puts it, in the above video, including all the food, fashion, and fun the city has to offer. "Salt Lake City is the perfect place for a Real Housewives franchise because we are messed up AF," cast member Heather Gay said in the above clip. "And we don't even know how crazy we are because this is the world we've always lived in. It is like no place else on Earth."
Andy also noted during the Twitter Q&A that Salt Lake City Housewife Whitney Rose does remind him of The Real Housewives of Dallas' Stephanie Hollman. Since they are both beautiful, bubbly blondes, we can totally see why!
And with the RHOSLC ladies' taglines being too cool, Andy couldn't resist sharing a couple of taglines of his own if he were a Salt Lake City Housewife, which you can check out in the below clip. "This first one is really cocky, but it's too good not to say," Andy said in the video.
RHOSLC premieres Wednesday, November 11 at 10/9c, but you can start watching the series premiere right now in the below clip exclusive to Bravo Insider.
