Craig Conover Shares an Exciting Career Update: "It's Incredible"
Here's why the Southern Charm cast member is saying, "Move over, Martha Stewart."
Craig Conover recently hit another major career milestone.
Over the years, Southern Charm viewers have watched Craig turn his passion for sewing into a business. Although he initially "got a lot of heat for sewing," as he described in 2019, Craig launched his company Sewing Down South that same year, and it has continued to grow in exciting ways (like launching an exclusive collection with HSN and landing in HomeGoods stores, just to name a couple).
An Update on Craig Conover's Pillow Company
Season 9 Episode 3 of Southern Charm showed Craig's latest career accomplishment as he moved inventory into Sewing Down South's new warehouse.
"This place is huge," Craig said as he walked in. "But it's gonna fill up fast."
In an interview during the episode, which aired on September 28, Craig opened up about the company's recent milestones. "Sewing Down South has just grown exponentially, and it's incredible to go from selling out of my dining room to an e-commerce site to the flagship store," he said. "Now, we have enough inventory to have our own warehouse. So, move over, Martha Stewart. I'm here to stay."
Although Craig was thrilled by the company's recent wins, including a partnership with Kroger, he was also considering what his growing business ties to Charleston would mean for his relationship with Paige DeSorbo, who is based in New York City.
"With the warehouse, and the design room, and this Kroger deal, my responsibility also increases," he explained. "So, if Paige doesn't move to Charleston, that means we're going to be long-distance forever."
Craig Conover's Feelings About Doing Long-Distance with Paige DeSorbo
Despite many conversations on Summer House and Southern Charm about their long-distance relationship, Craig recently explained on a podcast that he and Paige are very happy with their arrangement.
"By repeating that conversation over and over [on the shows], it does make it look like we have issues because it looks like we really, really care about [or] that we're not OK with our current situation, and we just are," Craig said on the September 28 episode of Chicks in the Office. "The balance of going up and back [between] two great cities, New York and Charleston, we're just happy."
Craig also shared how he and Paige have been splitting their time between the two cities recently. "This summer we spent in New York," he said. "Now we're moving down to Charleston for the next two months, which will be fun. Then we spend winter going up and back."
