The Altman Family’s 2022 Holiday Setup Includes “10 Trees” & “20,000 Pounds of Snow”
MDLLA’s Josh and Heather Altman shared all the details on how they transformed their home for the holidays.
Each year, Heather Altman goes all out to decorate her family’s house for the holidays. “This is, like, my favorite time of year,” she explained to BravoTV.com in a December 6 interview. With that in mind, she admitted, Josh Altman “has really had to learn to embrace the holidays,” which, in their house, include “everything from, you know, Halloween, Thanksgiving, over to Hanukkah, Chrismukkah, and New Year’s.”
Because Heather, Josh, and their kids, Lexi and Ace, celebrate Hanukkah, Heather explained how her approach to decorating is different from when she grew up celebrating Christmas. “Over the years, I’ve had to learn to give up the red, green, and gold decorations and embrace the blue and silver and white decorations,” she shared. “I really think that I should launch a Hanukkah decoration line, because I don’t think there [are] enough decorations. So I am buying Christmas decorations and I customize them by doing blue with silver on them… We have 10 trees at our home, Hanukkah trees, inside and outside.”
This year, the family kicked off a brand-new holiday tradition. “We started doing the elves,” Heather shared. “I think we figured out how to have Hannah the Hanukkah Hero hire the elves and report back to Hannah the Hanukkah Hero,” Heather explained. “I just started that this year, and it was really fun to kick it off for the kids and let them be a part of it.”
Heather and Josh are also continuing their tradition of filling their backyard with snow to celebrate the holiday season. “This is our third annual snow day coming up, and the kids and the kids’ friends and neighbors all look forward to it,” Heather said. “It’s the best thing ever. We do sledding and snowmen.”
While years past have looked beyond majestic, it seems this upcoming snow day will be bigger and better than ever. “We rented 20,000 pounds of snow in our backyard,” Josh shared. “We basically invite the whole neighborhood and all our friends.”
“It’s going to be a tradition for the rest of our lives,” Heather added with a laugh. “No matter what.”
