Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval's Friends Have Strong Reactions to Schwartz & Sandy's
During the Vanderpump Rules partners' "progress get-together" at their new bar, their loved ones did not hold back their opinions on the space.
On the January 4 episode of Vanderpump Rules, Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval were excited to show their friends the progress they had made on their new bar and restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy's.
"We want to have a little 'progress get-together' because we want people to be able to see the 'before' so they can appreciate the 'after,'" Sandoval said in an interview, before admitting, "I just wish we had a little bit more progress done."
Although they still had plenty to accomplish on the renovation, Schwartz and Sandoval's friends were eager to see their new venture. When Raquel Leviss arrived, she declared the space was "so cool," and James Kennedy was impressed by the ceiling height. As he jumped up on a bench and raised his arms, he exclaimed, "Look how tall it is!"
The group, also including Scheana Shay, Brock Davies, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, and Ariana Madix, seemed to be especially enthused about the welcome cocktail: a mix of "fresh pineapple, fresh ginger, a little pear, coconut vodka, and chili chocolate bitters."
However, they also had a few suggestions. "I know it's a work in progress, but I really thought that I would be able to sit down," Ariana said in an interview. "Oscar the Grouch would be comfortable hanging out in here 'cause it kinda looks like a dump, but I'd like a chair, please."
Raquel, meanwhile, explained that she had "higher expectations" for the mockup bar sign that Schwartz revealed. "Very minimal effort here," she said. "Maybe they could use a mood board."
In an interview, Lisa Vanderpump explained why she was "a little worried for" the best friend duo. "I think they might have these ideals in their head about the budget and about the timetable, but I think it's going to be more, and it's going to be longer," she said. "These are two people that don't really know what they're about to endure." Despite being behind schedule, Schwartz was optimistic about their progress. As he told Lisa, "It's going well."
On the show's November 2 episode, Sandoval shared his hopes for the design of the space: "I want colors, I want light drama on corners, I want seclusion, but also, you know, a community-interactive event."
