Lala Kent Is Rocking an Unexpected Manicure for Fall (PHOTO)
The Vanderpump Rules cast member had an orange-and-black manicure as October kicked off — but there's a surprising twist.
Lala Kent is kicking off October with an unexpected beauty move. The Vanderpump Rules cast member took to her Instagram Stories at the start of the month to show off her fresh manicure. The paint job featured orange and black hues, but the look signaled more than just trick-or-treat season.
To back up a bit, Lala is an advocate for orca whales in captivity. (She has even appeared in a PETA "free the orcas" ad.) Her love for whales doesn't just inspire advocacy work, it's also shown up more than once in her style and beauty choices.
In 2022, Lala attended a Sports Illustrated event wearing a sparkly minidress that had an image of an orca splashing across its front. That same year, the entrepreneur posted a photo of herself wearing a sheer dress that revealed the ink on her rib cage. “My orca tattoo is getting a moment,” she wrote in the caption of the photo. Lala Kent's Orca Manicure
Lala's recent Instagram Story showed a long, coffin-shaped nail swathed in shiny bright orange polish. The color choice wasn't unexpected for Ocean's mama. In fact, she celebrated a recent birthday in a slinky black cutout dress, which she paired with long, red-orange nails.
However, we still did a double take at Lala's latest mani. Though we didn't see it at first, the nail in her Instagram Story is decked with a teeny image of a black-and-white whale. See the meaningful mani below.
The Instagram Story may well have been posted from Lala's new home, as the fireplace grate in the background looks familiar! Last year, Lala shared the details of her living room on Instagram Live.
“I’m so into animal print and no one can change my mind about it. I feel like animal prints are a neutral,” she declared. She decked her home with an ottoman, two chairs, and pillows in a variety of animal prints. The room also has a fireplace, a play area for Ocean, and brass details.
Katie Maloney's Press-On Nails
Meanwhile, Lala isn't the only Vanderpump Rules cast member who's experimenting with her nail style. On September 18, her friend and castmate Katie Maloney took to Instagram Stories to share a look at her fresh press-on style.
“Popped on some nails [from Quickies] and I feel hot again,” the Something About Her co-owner wrote over a video of her new nails. The style had a long almond shape and a pinkish background with soft white and silver swirl designs.
