See How Karen Huger Gave Back to Her Hometown Over the Holidays
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member helped deliver holiday meals in Surry County, Virginia.
Karen Huger's hometown loves her — and she loves Surry County, Virginia, right back. The Real Housewives of Potomac fragrance creator, whose hometown recently hosted a parade in her honor (see the clip above), spent part of her holiday season helping to combat hunger in the community.
In an Instagram share, the La'Dame inventor posted pictures of herself participating in a Surry County food drive. In the snaps, Karen wore a Chanel mask and patterned, furry coat to ward off the chill. Posing with her fellow volunteers, the fashionable philanthropist stood amid boxes packed with groceries. "So honored to be able to give back! I love my hometown," she wrote in her caption.
The Sussex-Surry Dispatch reported that the December 19 event delivered some 500 boxes of turkey, ham, vegetables, and more to the county's "vulnerable population."
Chatting with the local outlet, Karen said: "I always look forward returning to my hometown of Surry County. This year it’s extra special. I’m happy to have been able to spread Christmas joy, servicing and delivering meals to our most vulnerable community members during this holiday. The pandemic tested and tried us all, but we remain Surry strong. I would just love to thank everyone for the best gift I received by far this year, their smiling faces. I remain ever proud of my community and committed to its thriving success."
