Candiace Dillard Bassett Channels Her Inner Queen Bee for Halloween
The RHOP cast member kicked off the holiday weekend with a live performance in Washington, D.C.
When it comes to costume parties, Candiace Dillard Bassett never disappoints.
In 2022, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member stepped out in a Beyoncé get-up that was equal parts sexy and unique. The ensemble included an Ivy Park bodysuit, shimmery Christian Louboutin heels, a bright red lip, and a sleek bob hairdo. While some may have missed the reference, the Beyhive knew exactly what Candiace was recreating: a standout look from the Ivy Park “Valentine’s Day” campaign in which Beyoncé modeled the same semi-sheer garment.
“Driving back to this [Beyoncé] look from [Ivy Park],” Candiace captioned the post. “Happy Halloween!!”
Well, it appears the Potomac 'Wife went from Queen Bey to Queen Bee.
Candiace Dillard Bassett's 2023 Halloween Costume
The former Miss United States kicked off Halloween weekend by attending a costume party hosted by Jamal Moore and Band Electrik. The event went down on Friday, October 27, at Washington, D.C.’s Barcode Restaurant and Lounge, where guests were encouraged to rock “fun, nostalgic, heroic, and comical" costumes.
Candiace arrived at the party in a cute bee costume that included a yellow-and-black striped tube top, a matching ski with tulle and pleather panels, black fishnet stockings, and a pair of pointed boots. However, it was the tiara that pulled the Queen Bee look together.
“FLOAT like a [butterfly’, STING like a [bee],” Candiace captioned the post.
The Potomac 'Wife documented the event — which she attended alongside her husband, Chris Bassett — in her Instagram Stories, where she posted photos and videos of her dancing with friends. But Candiace wasn’t just a regular attendee. Nope, she was also one of the entertainers.

A few of the Stories captured Candiace at the mic performing “Fine Whine” and “Drive Back” from her debut album, Deep Space.
Candiace released the LP in 2021 and dropped its deluxe edition in late 2022. She supported the project with a U.S. tour that included shows in Boston, St. Louis, Nashville, Chicago, and Atlanta; the latter of which featured a guest performance by The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Drew Sidora.
What's next for Candiace Dillard Bassett?
The singer-songwriter will return to the stage on October 30 at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she will open a show for Tamar Braxton. Candiace announced the big gig back in September when she conducted an Instagram Live stream with the R&B icon.
“Love and War is literally one of my favorite albums. Literally,” Candiace said about Tamar’s 2013 LP. “When Love and War came out, I was expecting it to be great. But I remember exactly where I was when the [lead] single dropped. I was sitting on my couch in my townhouse, and I said, ‘Oh my god, God. This b*tch is singing!’ So to be in a position to be able to help you bring the people into the town and open for you is truly a full circle moment. I am so grateful and so excited and happy for you.”
