Shannon Beador Reveals What Helped Her Lose Weight for Good

Back in 2019, Shannon Storms Beador dropped 40 pounds — and she took her followers along on her weight loss journey. (Hear her dish more about her diet in the clip above.) But throughout the unexpected events of 2020, Shannon's weight has fluctuated a couple of times. And as The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member holed up in self-quarantine, and later fell ill with COVID-19, she continued to be open about spikes and dips in her weight.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Back in August, Shannon announced a reinvigorated commitment to healthy living as she took a power walk and chatted with her fans on Instagram Stories. "When this pandemic started, I was so overrun by fear and I put on my COVID 16 [pounds]," she said. "But I am READY!"

At the time, Shannon was preparing to drop her daughter Sophie off at college in Texas. But "when I get back from Waco... I'm going to post every day on my Instagram Stories what I'm doing and what I'm eating," she vowed. "Because I've done it once and I'm getting back there."

The QVC mogul returned to social media with one such update in late September. While taking a walk, Shannon shared: "So, ever since I recovered from COVID, I just feel weighted down. I lost 15 pounds when I was sick but when I started to eat normal, bam! [The weight] just popped on again. So, I don't know if you guys feel this way, but I gotta do something about it."

She continued: "I worked really hard to get myself back to a certain place, and it's so flipping easy to lose [motivation.] And I'm starting down that path, and I keep talking and talking and talking and talking about how I have to change it and get back [on track], so I'm going to. I just went on a walk — it's hot — now I'm going to go home and make a smoothie, protein drink. It's good for me, after my exercise."

Later, Shannon filmed herself whipping up that protein drink, and shared the ingredients that she uses. She tossed in half a banana, some frozen strawberries, a handful of frozen blueberries, half a cucumber, big handfuls of baby Romaine lettuce and baby spinach, and a dash of ginger juice. She topped it off with lemon juice and dairy-free protein powder, and blended it all up after adding a dash of water.

"It's not the best color, but ... it does taste pretty good," Shannon said, holding up her finished drink. "So, today, Day One, back to the healthy person that I used to be. And I'm out, getting out, of the quarantine slump."
