As a part-time party planner, Emily Simpson has a list of go-to spots for Orange County's best desserts. When one of her children has a birthday to celebrate, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom orders magical cakes from Moon Goat Farms. (Emily's own 44th birthday cake also came from the farm-slash-bakery.) And if it's donuts you're after, Emily knows just where to satiate your sweet tooth.
In her recent Instagram Stories, the mom of three shared a tip for donut cravers in her area. Posting photos of her chocolate-glazed, sprinkled treats from JD Flannel Donuts and Coffee, Emily made a bold proclamation: "Best donuts in Orange County," was all she had to say.
A little scoop about this spot: The shop changes its flavors up monthly. Right now, its raised donuts come in flavors such as Valhrona Chocolate (this seems to be Emily's pick) and vegan Boysenberry. There are also cake donuts, which come in flavors like Brown Butter Sea Salt and Blueberry Lemon. And now, we just can't stop thinking about donuts ... why, Emily, why?
