Emily Simpson Shares Details on Her Upper Eyelid Surgery: “I Can See a Big Difference”
The RHOC cast member is showing the results of her recent cosmetic surgery.
Whether she’s talking about veneers or dissolving fillers, Emily Simpson tends to be an open book when it comes to her cosmetic procedures. That was certainly the case on August 22, when The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member took her Instagram followers along as she prepared for surgery.
Emily Simpson shares details on her upper eyelid surgery
“Today I’m having… I don’t know what the technical term is,” Emily said in an Instagram Story video before her surgeon, Dr. Siamak Agha, explained, “Upper blepharoplasty, or upper eyelid surgery.”
Emily went on to share why she was having the surgery. “I have noticed recently that every time I take a photo, you can’t see my eyes anymore,” she said. “Dr. Agha said that it’s because when you get older, right, the skin up here gets heavier and it falls down over your eyes.”
Turning to the doctor, she asked, “It’s very minor surgery, right?”
Dr. Agha replied, “Right. You’re gonna be under local [anesthesia]. It’s gonna take less than an hour… It’s about a centimeter of skin that we’re gonna remove.”
He went on to say, “Yes, it’s a small surgery, but it does have a significant impact because you’re removing a good amount of eyelid skin.”
The doctor explained that the healing time would be “less than two weeks,” but Emily had a bit of a conflict. “I’m having a party in two days,” she said with a laugh. “So no big deal.”
Emily returned to her Instagram Stories after the surgery was done, and although there was some bruising and swelling, as expected, she declared, “I can see a big difference.”
As for that party in two days, Emily explained, “I’m gonna be wearing big sunglasses the whole time.”
Emily has seen Dr. Agha for other surgeries in the past, including a breast implant removal and a reverse tummy tuck in 2020 and a “mini” lower facelift in 2021.

On August 30, Emily took to her Instagram Stories to share an update on the results of her surgery, sharing a look at her face with some bruising around her eyes.
"Here's the eyes one [week] later," she began in one photo. "The swelling is gone and I had the stitches removed yesterday."
Emily added that the bruising around her eyes was "still pretty intense" and that she unfortunately "bled more than the usual patient" which caused "more bruising than normal."
In the next snap, Emily gave a refresher to fans about the procedure and again commented on how she bruises "more than most people do."
