It’s Taken Emily Simpson “35 Years to Learn This” Body Positive Mindset

The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer Emily Simpson has serious style, whether she's rocking a red-hot jumpsuit, an adorable sundress, or getting all glammed up for the Emmy Awards. She's also a fierce advocate for body positivity, and she's not afraid to clap back at body shamers.
But her confidence didn't arrive overnight: It took 35 years (to be exact) for her to get this perspective. Here's what Emily wrote on Instagram yesterday:
"EVERY time a new episode of #rhoc airs, I get so many comments about my body. MOST of them positive. Ladies, teens, tweens, girls.... Listen to me....be your OWN kind of cool. Find a style that works for your body type and rock it. Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t compare yourself to your friends. Don’t try to dress trendy just because you want to fit in. It’s taken me 35 years to learn this, but I’ve finally gotten it down. I dress for me. Curvy cool."
