Bethenny Frankel Shows How She Uses Bacon Grease to Dress Her Salads
The Real Housewives of New York City alum schooled us on the proper way to flavorfully dress a salad.
Bethenny Frankel cooked up a hearty spread involving steak and truffle macaroni and cheese on October 13. Sadly, we didn't get a seat at her dinner table. We did, however, get something more than mere FOMO by watching the dinner preparation play out on Instagram. As she made her meal, Bethenny dispensed some pearls of cooking wisdom. First up: How to properly sauté mushrooms.
While manning her pan, The Real Housewives of New York City alum had this wisdom to share: "With mushrooms, you've got to let these guys chill, and sit. Because otherwise, if you start moving them around [the pan] and if you salt them early, they will get soggy and sweaty. You need your mushrooms crispy." Here's to a future free of limp mushrooms!
Next, it was onto some tips for superior salads. "Mixed greens," she said, showing off the bowl full of veggies. "Use a little bit of the bacon grease in this Southwestern Chipotle dressing, and we'll toss at the very last minute." She added: "You gotta salt and pepper your greens."
Consider us schooled.
