Bethenny Is Bonding with BF Paul's 92-Year-Old Grandma in the Sweetest Way
The Real Housewives of New York City alum is picking up some grandmotherly wisdom in the kitchen.
Bethenny Frankel is learning all about matcha from a woman who's dear to Paul Bernon's heart. In her Instagram Stories from December 15, The Real Housewives of New York City alum shared that she was in the kitchen with her beau's grandma, where she picked up a trick or two about the ceremonial tea.
"[Paul Bernon's] 92 year old Japanese grandmother teaching me how to properly [make] matcha," Bethenny captioned her video. In the series of videos that came next, Bethenny imparted some of her newfound wisdom. Or shall we say, she spilled the tea on tea?
First things first: Matcha needs to be sifted before it's poured into a cup, and then whisked after almost-boiling water is added. "That's because matcha can get very clumpy," Bethenny shared. "You have to sift it. And you also have to whisk it."
Bethenny also learned that if she's drinking matcha from a cup with a design on one side, she should drink from the plain side of the cup to let the design face out. "The pretty faces the guest. I like it!" she said.
