Sonja Morgan's Newly-Renovated $10.75M Townhouse: See the Before & After Photos
The Real Housewives of New York City cast member has totally transformed her five-bedroom Upper East Side home.
As Sonja Morgan prepared to put her Upper East Side townhouse on the market, she decided to totally transform the incredible five-bedroom home.
"At this point, this house is nothing more than a financial drain, an emotional drain," Sonja explained of her decision to sell the house on The Real Housewives of New York City's September 3 episode. "I want to be footloose, fancy free. I have worked so hard to get to this point. I don't want to be house heavy."
"Now that my daughter is in college, I certainly don't need all this house for one person," she continued. "This place is ready to be taken on by a new family and make it their own."
While she was in the midst of redoing the house, Sonja proudly showed off her progress to Ramona Singer. As she took Ramona through the house, she explained that her downstairs and staircase carpeting would be white, which Ramona approvingly noted would match the walls. In January, Sonja shared that her dog inspired her color choice for the carpeting, writing on Instagram: "When you Reno your home always match your stairs to your poodle’s color with [Ez Carpet & Flooring Service.]"
While the ground floor wasn't quite complete at the time, Sonja was ready to show a finished upstairs bedroom to Ramona. "Sonja I love this room," Ramona said upon entering the space, in which Sonja traded brown furniture for chic white pieces. "There's nothing I think you should change." As they continued checking out the house, Sonja noted: "I reupholstered the heirloom furniture."
While Ramona was impressed with a "great" renovated bathroom, she stopped in her tracks when she saw one of the bedroom's carpeting. "I love the carpet," she said before lying down to pose on it. "Can I copy this for my bedroom?"
