As Sonja Morgan reflected on her experience on Season 12 of The Real Housewives of New York City during Part 1 of the show's reunion, she was quick to acknowledge that her experience with alcohol was hard to look back on. "I did not like the example I sent to my young viewers this year," Sonja admitted, explaining that taking a diuretic, also known as a water pill, heavily affected her drinking.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

"I would get, like, one welcome drink and I was buzzed," she said during the September 10 reunion episode. "When I saw myself show up to Luann's party, I had upped the meds, the diuretic, and I was under the diuretic the first year when I had fell under the table with Bethenny... What happened was it slowed my motor skills."

Sonja realized that the pills may be impacting her drinking experience during the group's trip to Mexico and quickly decided to stop taking them. "As soon as I threw those pills out with Ramona, the next night, I kept up with everybody at dinner," she said. "It was the pill."

When host Andy Cohen noted that Dorinda Medley seemed to question that the water pills were solely responsible for Sonja's intoxication, Dorinda revealed that she takes them as well. "I take the same ones," she said. "Actually since I started menopause."
