Joe Giudice Details his Travel to Italy

During The Real Housewives of New Jersey Special Event: Joe and Teresa Unlocked, lots of bombshells were unearthed — like whether Teresa Giudice and her estranged husband, Joe, are going to get divorced (read more about that here) and how the couple’s four daughters have been affected by both parents serving terms in prison. (Didn't catch the special? Watch the entire episode here!)

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

But we also learned more about Joe’s new life in Italy. Backstory: While awaiting a decision in his ongoing deportation case, Joe was released from ICE custody and permitted to fly to his native country of Italy. When Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host Andy Cohen inquired about how life is in Italy, Joe replied, “It’s different, that’s for sure. It’s definitely different.”

Where’s he living in Italy? With family, of course! Joe revealed he’s actually living in his grandmother’s home in the small town of Sala Consilina in the province of Salerno, explaining her house “is small, but it’s fine.”

As to whether he hopes to return to his family in the United States, Joe said, “I mean, it’s not a good feeling. I’m here, I’m happy I’m out, but I’m sad at the same time. I’m sad I’m not with my family, I’m sad I’m not with my wife, of course ,and with all my friends back at home. That’s where my life is. It’s not here. It’s there.”

The couple also touched upon whether — if Joe is in fact deported — Teresa and the kids would consider moving to Italy to be with him. "No, right now, the kids don't want to go there, it's like they've been through enough, they don't want to go anywhere," Teresa said, with Joe adding, "Listen, I would not want anybody to move here with me. I mean, come on that's crazy, my kids are grounded there. I'm not going to pick them up and bring them over here."

To see more updates about Teresa and Joe’s fate, be sure to tune in to the season premiere of RHONJ on November 6 at 8/7c.
