Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Reveals If She's Had a Tummy Tuck
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fitness pro says her life changed at a plastic surgeon’s office.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills accountability coach Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave believes when it comes to diet and exercise, there are no quick fixes. But it took her a while to get to that mindset — and it turns out a big turning point for Teddi to commit to a healthy lifestyle happened in a plastic surgeon's office.
Teddi's posted about her dramatic stomach transformation before, showing progress photos that demonstrate what happened when she ditched processed snacks and protein shakes for "clean food." She just revealed, however, that before she had those ripped abs, she was once tempted to get a tummy tuck.
"Yesterday I did an Insta story Q & A and the most asked question was, 'What made you officially make the choice to change your life when it comes to food and exercise?' It was a combination of three major events," Teddi wrote on Instagram, showing a "before" photo a year after having her son Cruz. Teddi said she had been exercising consistently, but felt her progress was stalled.
"I was feeling better mentally but physically I had stopped seeing change and still didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin," she wrote. "So I went to a plastic surgeon’s office and asked for a tummy tuck. She looked me dead in the eye and said no. She explained that even though I was working out hard, if I didn’t change the way I was eating, I would never see the results I wanted."
Whoa! Teddi said she left "her office mad," but that interaction inspired her to hold herself accountable to working toward her health and fitness goals, and led to her creating her business helping others reach their goals, too.
"That’s when I realized I can’t look at my health as summer is coming and I have to fit into that bathing suit; I need a full lifestyle change. I have now maintained this lifestyle change for 3.5 years," she wrote, adding, "Remember, this is a lifestyle change not a diet."
