Eva Marcille Has the Sweetest Story About Daughter Marley Being “Such a Fashionista”

Whether she’s hitting the streets of New York City or having fun on the dance floor at a wedding, Eva Marcille’s daughter, Marley Rae Sterling, is already showing off her unique sense of style — and The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Ex-Wives Club cast member couldn’t be happier about it. In a recent interview with BravoTV.com, Eva opened up about her 8-year-old’s evolving fashion choices.

“Marley is such a fashionista,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum gushed. “She is the epitome of what fashion and style is supposed to be, which is a personal and self expression.”

Eva gave an adorable example to better showcase her daughter’s approach to creating looks. “The other day [Marley] had a jacket,” she began. “My friend said, 'Marley, it’s too warm for that coat.’” And although it was spring in Atlanta (read: hot), Marley was set on keeping the outerwear regardless of the temperature. “[Marley] says, 'I’m not wearing it. It’s for my fashion,’” Eva explained.

“It was a shearling jacket,” she continued. “But there was, like, a little shearling tip on her shoe and she wanted to coordinate that… She wore it off of her shoulders, just at the arm.” With a laugh, Eva added, “I can’t with her.”

Eva explained why it’s important to her that Marley embraces her personal style. “I mean, the way she wants to express herself does not have to be something that everyone understands,” she said. “I let her do her thing and enjoy fashion in the way in which I think it was meant to be enjoyed. Which is, whatever works for you, however you feel. And it should make you feel good at the end of the day.”
