She May Be a Royal Now, But Meghan Markle Still Cooks for Herself and Prince Harry Every Day
Meghan Markle, gifted cook, still cherishes her time in the kitchen and "loves feeding you, taking care of you."
Quite a lot has changed for American expat Meghan Markle since she wed Prince Harry and became a full-fledged royal… with all the associated pomp and scrutiny that goes along with that. And as the Duchess has been increasingly associated with negative-tinged media reports and public perception, her dearest friends want to set the record straight on what she’s really like.
It turns out, according to unnamed close friends cited in People — whose aim, they said, was merely to "speak the truth" — Makle remains in many ways the same domestically gifted person she was before she pivoted to palace life. And that means she still loves cooking, and does it daily.
“We’ve all been to their cottage,” a close friend tells People. “It’s small and she’s made it cozy, but the perception of their lifestyle and the reality are two different things. Meg cooks for herself and Harry every single day.”
Further, a friend from L.A. told People this cozy anecdote: “We had a couple of days together recently. Her husband was out of town on work. In the room she made up for me, there was a candle lit by the bed, slippers, and a robe. We were the only two in the house. It was our time. She made the most lovely meals. She made tea every day. It was raining and muddy outside, so the dogs got all dirty, and she’s wiping them off with towels. How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you — none of that has changed.”
It seems appropriate as ever, given that context, that her prince proposed while the pair were whipping up dinner. And that her first royal gift was an apron.
