Kourtney Kardashian Struggles to “Calm My Mind Down” So She Does This to Fall Asleep
Kourtney Kardashian reveals her nighttime anxiety and insomnia — and what she does about it.
We already know that Kourtney Kardashian is a big fan of therapeutic drinks of various kinds: She espouses the benefits of her so-called "detox water" (here's what the experts say); she loves her protein-packed three-ingredient avocado smoothie recipe; and believes in the healing properties behind drinkable collagen. In fact, Kourtney's first Poosh collab is a drinkable collagen powder with Vital Proteins.
When she announced that launch, she said, "Collagen has been an important part of my wellness and self-care routine for years." And now, she's revealing one more nominal benefit of collagen — and how it helps with a personal problem she (and many other) struggle with: nighttime anxiety and insomnia.
On Instagram, she shared, "I often have trouble falling asleep and calming my mind down at night, and had been looking for a natural way to get the rest my body needs." She solves that with some drinkable collagen (her own formula, of course) — mixed with a supplement said to help support sleep.
"In my pink moon milk collagen latte, we added melatonin to support a deeper sleep (hopefully without waking up throughout the night) and magnesium, which helps create a sense of calm and relaxation," she wrote.
Kourtney's collagen product with Vital Proteins sell for $44 on the Poosh shop. The site bills the product, "combines all the wellness benefits of collagen with major superfood ingredients to help you look and feel younger and grab a hold of that coveted glow. Light and refreshing, this blueberry and lemon flavored drink spotlights 10g of collagen peptides, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and amla berry for powerful — and delicious — beauty benefits." To prep, add the powder to a cold liquid.
Poosh claims collagen peptides "help support skin elasticity and moisture, a youthful appearance, and hair and nail strength." As well, Vitamin C in the product helps, "promote collagen production and boost glowing skin." And the included hyaluronic acid helps, "support skin hydration."
However those claims have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration — a concern being widely discussed these days surrounding celebrity-endorsed "detox teas."
