Katie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb Reveal Their Drunkest Today Show Guest Ever
"She seemed like she was tiptoeing over the edge," according to Kotb.
Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford go together like Shiraz and steak. For 10 years, the duo has perfected their chemistry as co-hosts of Kathie Lee & Hoda. And speaking of Shiraz, the witty women are as known for their wisecracks as for the vino they always have on hand.
In an interview with Us Weekly, the two were stumped when they were asked how many bottles they've consumed over the years. "I don't think you can count that high," Kotb confessed.
Still, the co-anchors maintain that they've never been fully drunk on air. (Um, despite what Kristin Wiig's Saturday Night Live impression indicates.) "My daddy taught me years ago that you sip, you don't drink," Gifford said. However, that doesn't mean that all of their guests nursed their drinks.
"Olivia Munn was throwing down [when she appeared on our show]," Kotb shared. "By the end, we were all laughing. She seemed like she was tiptoeing over the edge... She kept saying 'Is this day drinking?'"
Nope, it was even better that that: "That was morning drinking," Gifford said.
