Chrissy Teigen Skipped the Oscars to Focus on Tracking Down a Taco Truck Instead
Chrissy Teigen had her priorities straight for Oscars Sunday 2018.
Chrissy Teigen made a gasp-worthy Oscars decision this year: The Twitter icon and cookbook author neither attended nor watched the star-studded award show. Instead, Teigen found the taco truck from Ugly Delicious, David Chang's Netflix show. In true fashion, she did not stop updating her followers until the truck, Mariscos Jalisco, was in sight, ready to take her order. And that is the power of Chef Chang's eight-part series (read: ready-to-binge food porn), which explores extremely delicious food that, well... doesn't look like it was plated with tweezers. Even celebrities are feeling the urge to find — and promptly eat — the yumminess featured!
Alas, the Los Angeles-based food truck serving up authentic Mexican tacos caught Teigen's eye, and here's a recap of how she was able to come face-to-face with it in a matter of hours.
First, Teigen announced her taco mission.
She "cancelled Oscars Sunday" in order to focus on the task at hand — "track down the taco truck featured in Ugly Delicious" — and even offered up her dress to "anyone around six months pregnant."
Less than 10 minutes later, she tweeted again: She found Mariscos Jalisco!
Chef Chang replied to Teigen, gushing, "It's so damn good." Then, just about eight hours after her initial tweet launching the search, something amazing happened.
Teigen posted a video of the truck pulling into an undisclosed location.
"IT'S HERE!" she captioned the incredible moment before adding a healthy amount of taco emojis (eight to be exact).
Finally, she posted this photo of her and Luna getting ready to place their highly-anticipated order.
"I could cry," she wrote. Meanwhile, we're in awe of Teigen's true dedication to satisfying her cravings. And we're sort of wishing we were invited to this taco party. What Oscars?!
