Here's the Real Reason Jenna Lyons Wasn't at BravoCon: "She's Very Happy"
The Real Housewives of New York City cast was down a Housewife at BravoCon 2023. The other women explained why.
The Real Housewives of New York City cast attended BravoCon 2023 on Saturday — but one member of the group was missing from the Bravo festivities.
Fashion designer Jenna Lyons was noticeably absent from the three-day convention and the group panel “Let’s Hear It for (New) New York,” moderated by Matt Rogers, where the ladies rehashed their past drama and the dynamics of their first season as Housewives.
Why wasn't Jenna Lyons at BravoCon 2023?
The reason why Jenna was missing from the big occasion?
“Jenna is at an event tonight and she apologizes that she cannot be here,” Sai De Silva explained as soon as the panel got underway.
And while she may have had a legitimate excuse, the Housewives weren’t about to let her miss the Bravo event of the year without giving her at least a little shade.
“Jenna’s in bed with her girlfriend,” Brynn Whitfield quipped, referencing the LoveSeen founder’s romantic interest Cass Bird. “I got a selfie this morning, she’s very happy.”
“I saw Jenna last night, she’s definitely very happy,” Jessel Taank added.
Jenna may have opted to skip the velvet couch with her fellow Housewives to dish on the drama that went down on the Anguilla girls trip or that infamous “Christmas tree” lingerie moment with Jessel, but they assured moderator Matt Rogers her absence has caused no bad blood with the other ladies.
“She just couldn’t be here,” Sai emphasized, before Brynn joked that they should “talk sh-t about her” because she was gone.
It isn’t the first time Jenna has separated herself from the other Housewives, of course. She made waves when she opted to sleep at her own Hamptons home rather than stay at Erin Lichy’s Hampton’s house with the others during a girls weekend, and she also flew down separately to Anguilla.
The drama began on the Anguilla trip before the women ever touched down in the tropical paradise after Jenna let it slip to Erin while recuperating from dental surgery tied to her genetic disorder that she may have had an ulterior motive for making her own flight plans.
“I’ll be honest with you, and you’re gonna hate me for this,” Jenna said, “I didn’t want to fly coach.”
While some of the women thought Jenna may have been having a diva moment, she later explained that she wanted to arrive early so she could tan and even out the skin discolorations she has as a result of her genetic condition.
“When I found out that we were flying coach, I asked my assistant if she would look for another flight. I wanted to get a little sun because I’m going to be on the beach with all of you guys and what you have what I don’t: perfect skin,” she said.
This time around, when it came to her absence from BravoCon, it seems the ladies of RHONY didn't require any further explanation.
