Whatever Happened to Marlo Hampton?
The former 'RHOA' friend opens up about her experience on the show and what 2015 holds for her.
There's a familiar face that's been seemingly missing on this season's The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Marlo Hampton, an Atlanta staple, had an epic falling out within NeNe Leakes—and now she's opening up about how the show impacted her journey, as well as her plans for the future.
Although she admitted that at times she was "misunderstood" on RHOA, she also explained the positivity the show provided. "Overall, being on the show was a great experience, even with all the ratchetness," she said. "I met a host of diverse and talented women and traveled to Africa for the first time. Most importantly, I learned to always be true to who you are because you're under the microscope in everything you do, on TV and real life."
So how does she stay true to herself? "I don't know how to be anyone but me," she explained. "I live my truth and I'm not afraid or ashamed of my past. …Every day I wake up I give thanks and keep it moving towards my goals. That's me being me—all day, every day."
And she's got some big goals for 2015. Aside from launching a new website, working on a book, and potentially returning to TV, Marlo is continuing to give back to the Atlanta community, which The Real Housewives was instrumental in.
"RHOA gave me a great platform and allowed me to share my love of fashion, and spread the word about the things I do for the community," she shared. "Such as my Simple Giving initiative which provides holiday meals to families in need and my Glam It Up! project for foster care youth in Atlanta."
As for a return to reality TV? Marlo keeps us all guessing. "You never know what the future holds," she said. "But I can say that you be seeing much more from Marlo in 2015."
With her return to TV being somewhat up in the air, there's one thing that she's pretty decided upon: her relationship with NeNe. "There is no relationship… Bloop!"
