Jen Shah Reveals What Her Job Is and Explains What the Shah Squad Actually Does
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member opened up about her fabulous crew of assistants.
This season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, cast member Jen Shah introduced us to the “shahmazing” crew that goes everywhere with her: the Shah Squad. Though her group of assistants seemed to always be present this season — and even traveled to Las Vegas with the ladies — some viewers were left wondering what the Squad actually does.
During Part 1 of the Season 1 reunion, Andy Cohen shared a viewer question with Jen: “Why do you need four assistants?” He also specifically asked her to “break down what each of them do for you outside of clapping for your fabulous outfits and driving you around.”
“I need a lot of help, you know? They all do different things,” Jen explained. “I run a lot of different companies and businesses, and a lot of them have different roles in the companies.”
This answer brought Andy to yet another question people have been curious about: What exactly does Jen do for work?
“My background is in direct response marketing for about 20 years, so our company does advertising. We have a platform that helps people acquire customers, so when you’re shopping online or on the Internet, and something pops, we have the algorithm behind why you’re getting served that ad,” she said.
If you still have a few questions, you’re not alone. Heather Gay admitted she’s still not totally sure what her friend does for work.
“I try to be, like, a fairly smart person, but remember I was like, ‘I still don’t get it,’” said Heather at the reunion. “And I was at a company dinner at Tao, and I was also at the owner’s table at 1 Oak. Best night ever. I was just like, I don’t know what she does, but I like it!”
Jen also cleared up a misconception about husband Sharrieff’s career after a fan inquired why he is often traveling if he is not the head coach of the football team.
“It is a full-time, very rigorous job. If he was the head coach, he would have more leniency to stay back,” explained Jen. “It’s the assistant coaches that are out all the time recruiting if the season’s not in.”
