What Does Andy Cohen Think of Ryan Seacrest Joining Kelly Ripa on LIVE?
The #WWHL host opened up about his pal's new co-host.
If you thought there was a chance that the host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen might add a certain popular morning show to his mix, that rumor was finally put to bed with Kelly Ripa's official reveal: She's chosen Ryan Seacrest to host LIVE with her. So, what does her pal Andy Cohen think of this news?
"I think it's good," Andy told an US Weekly reporter onboard his WWHL Mobile Clubhouse, which is in NYC until Thursday.
He continued, "He's a star, he's an adult, they're equals. I think it's great for Kelly. She's had a lot on her plate for the last year doing that show alone and so I think it's great."
Andy has long said that he wasn't in the running to co-host the show, but that hasn't stopped rumors from circulating, perhaps being fueled by the fact that he had been a guest co-host six times in the past year.
"First of all, they never asked," he said to US Weekly. "Second of all, I couldn't do it." Andy also knows that burning a candle at both ends by working on a morning show and a late night show would not help him find time to dream. "I would never sleep again and I don't already," he asserted.
A lot of Hollywood eyes will be on Ryan's performance — other stars who expressed interest in the job over the past year include Christian Slater, Jerry O'Connell and Kelly's husband Mark Consuelos.
