Tom Schwartz Wants To Clear a Few Things Up About That TV on the Floor: “It’s a Choice” (VIDEO)
"It's not laziness," the Vanderpump Rules cast member said while defending his buzzed-about living room setup.
After moving into a new apartment in 2022, it took some time for Tom Schwartz to feel at home.
"I try not to bitch too much," the Vanderpump Rules cast member explained on the Season 11 After Show, which you can watch here. "I'm grateful to have an apartment and a roof over my head, but aside from all the sadness with getting divorced, going from a beautiful dream home, like, your sanctuary where you're the [king] of your castle and kind of being relegated back into an apartment, it really sucked."
Now that he's had more time to settle in, Tom explained to BravoTV.com in the video above, "I've grown to love this place. It feels kind of like a home. A transitional home."
While Tom's apartment has come a long way since he told Scheana Shay his setup was "depressing" in Season 10, Episode 3 of the show, there is one choice that he has continued to get called out for — even by his Winter House romantic interest, Katie Flood.

After Tom shared an Instagram post that showed his apartment in November 2023, the Below Deck Mediterranean yachtie quipped in a comment, "[It']s the TV on the floor for me."

In the video above, Tom defended his TV setup. "This is not procrastination," he declared. "It's not laziness. This is a choice. I'm a floor person, OK?"
While Tom may have lived for more than a year with the TV on the floor, he did eventually decide to make a change. In the Vanderpump Rules After Show, he declared, "I'm really proud to say that my TV in my living room is no longer on the floor."
In the same After Show clip, Katie Maloney weighed in on her ex-husband's new place. "It's giving, like, college, this is temporary, even though I've been here for well over a year," she said. "He just has dust in places...but he's not, like, a dirty person. When we lived together, he would clean. He would do things. I just don't know why it's different now." Still, Katie shared, "His plants thrive."
