Todd Tucker Explains Why Kandi Burruss Was "the Worst" for Overbooking Her Schedule
"I'm not going to try to defend that. It was bad,” admitted Kandi.
On The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12, Episode 20, Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, butted heads about her incredibly busy schedule. After returning from an acting job in Chicago, Kandi only had two days before it was time to head back. Her short time at home was filled with appearances, like a Roc Nation luncheon, and Todd was upset that she wasn’t spending the time with family instead. After the episode aired, the couple addressed the situation in a video on Kandi’s YouTube channel.
Todd kicked off the video with a bang, asking viewers: “Did y’all see this episode of Housewives? You’re the worst.” When Kandi appeared shocked to hear Todd call her “the worst,” he clarified what he meant, adding, “After watching that, you were the worst in that moment. You were bad, like you were very selfish.”
Kandi then called Todd out for his comments about her acting career, and said, “He was being extra supportive, then he changed his tune at the end, like ‘Oh, you’re doing too much.’ It’s like, you’re the one who was telling me, go for it, go do it…”
Todd then explained that he wasn’t upset about the acting, but about the way she was prioritizing her time.
“I never changed my tune about the acting. That’s where you always miss it. You always missed the point. I never said I didn’t want you to do the acting, I never said I didn’t want you to do the sex scene,” Todd claimed. “I just said, when you come home for those two days to prioritize your family, not book luncheons and s--t that ain’t even making you no money.”
He went on to point out that Kandi’s actions in the episode specifically bothered him. “Even in the scene, like, ‘Oh, you’re gonna make me cry, don’t mess up my makeup because I gotta go to this luncheon.'”
Instead of defending herself, Kandi totally agreed with Todd.
“OK, that was bad. It was bad. I'm not going to try to defend that. It was bad,” she admitted. “I hear what you’re saying, and there’s really no way that I can really defend what happened during this episode. You are correct.”
Although Kandi admitted that she was wrong, she did also explain that she was trying to support her friends that weekend and attend some of their events, as well. Ultimately, Todd said she needs to learn to prioritize her time and say no when she’s getting overbooked.
Kandi and Todd will continue to hash out their problems in a counseling session in an all-new episode of RHOA Sunday at 8/7c. Check out a preview, below.
