Kim Richards Shares Her Thoughts on Kyle Richards' New Show
Has The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum changed her tune about American Woman?
Kyle Richards' new series American Woman has finally premiered, and it looks like she's gotten a big thumbs up from at least one of her famous sisters.
Kim Richards sent a lot of love to Kyle in a sweet tweet on Thursday, the night the new series premiered. Kyle serves as co-executive producer on American Woman, which is inspired by the life of her late mother, Kathleen Richards, and her life as a single mom in the 1970s. "Good Luck to my little sister @KyleRichards on Your New Show!" Kim gushed on Twitter, along with lots of emojis, from a four-leaf clover to hearts to doves.
Kim also witnessed another major moment in her family this week as the son of their eldest sister Kathy Hilton, Barron Hilton, wed Tessa Gräfin von Walderdorff in St. Barts on June 3.
As Kyle was still in the midst of working on American Woman, she confirmed that Kathy and Kim would not be participating in the series during an interview with The Daily Dish podcast in February 2017. "It's my own project," Kyle said. "I don’t think my sisters really understood what it was in the beginning. I was like, 'It’s not a reality show, it’s a scripted show inspired by [our childhood].'"
Kyle revealed this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that her relationship with Kim and Kathy had become strained once again due to her working on American Woman. Kyle later shared at the RHOBH Season 8 reunion that things between her and Kathy were still "not great." When Andy Cohen asked Kyle if she was on speaking terms with Kathy, she said, "Honestly, not right now, and that's why I'm looking forward to her seeing American Woman, because I think she's gonna look and say, 'I read the situation wrong,' and then we'll go from there."
However, Kyle and Kim seemed to be in a much better place by the time Kyle appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in May. "Kim and I are fine. Yeah, I sent her the DVD [of American Woman]," she said. "Kathy has not seen the show yet."
But these sisters will always be family no matter what. "We’re sisters, we love each other," Kyle said when talking about how Kathy has responded to the series during an appearance on Megyn Kelly TODAY earlier this week. "She hasn’t seen the show, so I’m excited for her to see it. It is inspired by [our childhood], it’s not autobiographical, so she’ll see that.”
