Teddi says she's "grateful" her melanoma was caught early

Teddi said she was preparing for “more hard conversations” with her children: Slate, Cruz, Dove, and stepdaughter, Isabella, whom she shares with her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave. The former Beverly Hills ’Wife said the diagnosis has left her “feeling really sad,” but she's trying her best to remain positive.

“I know I will be ok in the end – we caught this one within 90 days and earlier stages and for that I am very grateful,” she continued. “I am grateful to the incredible physicians, nurses, my family, horses, friends, and work but am also trying to be gentle with myself and say it’s ok to have feelings and be afraid.”

Teddi was first diagnosed with melanoma in early 2022 after her good friend Kyle Richards noticed suspicious spots on her back.

“In March, I was running with Kyle Richards, actually, and she was like, ‘Hey, one of your spots is, like, black. You need to go to the dermatologist and get it checked,’” Teddi recalled in a 2022 interview with Extra. “We went in, and immediately, they biopsied it, and it came back melanoma.”

Since then, Teddi has had more than a dozen cancerous growths removed from her back. She has also used her platform to advocate for skin cancer awareness and to stress the importance of getting tested.

“Tomorrow will be better and if it’s not I will keep fighting until it is,” she wrote in the July 25 post. “If you are going through something and feel sad, scared, or alone – I feel you and we will fight through these unknowns together. Sending [heart emojis] to you all and please book your skin checks.”
