Danielle Olivera Reveals Something That's Been on Her Mind About Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula
Kyle Cooke also addresses his comments about his relationship with Amanda Batula in Season 6 of Summer House.
Earlier this season of Summer House, Kyle Cooke vented to Danielle Olivera about some of the issues in his relationship with Amanda Batula as the two prepared to walk down the aisle at the end of the summer. Danielle then relayed that information to Ciara Miller and Paige DeSorbo at the 50 Shades of Summer party (clip above), who, in turn, told Amanda about Kyle's comments in an emotional conversation the next day, which also included Mya Allen.
What came next was the most awkward speech ever delivered by Kyle at his 39th birthday party asking for support and not questions from his friends as he and Amanda prepare to get married. Luckily, Mya, whose own engagement ended prior to this season of Summer House, was able to smooth things over for everyone with Kyle at his birthday party, and the Loverboy mogul ultimately apologized to Amanda, Paige, and Ciara as well.
The Summer House crew was, fortunately, able to resolve this bit of drama. But when Danielle appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 7, one member of the virtual audience wanted to know if there was any part of her that regretted telling Ciara and Paige what Kyle said about Amanda in the first place.
Looking back on it all, Danielle still has complicated feelings about this part of the summer. "So this has been on my mind since it happened, to be honest with you, because I don't think I did the right thing, but I also think I was in an impossible situation," she recalled. "I didn't have Lindsay [Hubbard] there to kind of say, 'What the f--k should I do?'"
However, Danielle said that she feels like she did what was best for Amanda. "But it was one of those moments where I really didn't know how to bring it to Amanda because I love Amanda, but we're not as close, and she doesn't necessarily always take feedback very well," Danielle explained. "So I thought the people that might know how to approach it with her the best way were Ciara and Paige at the time. So that's why I told them."
Kyle also reflected on these tense moments and how hard it has been to relive it all in a post on Instagram on March 7. "Last week’s episode was really difficult for me. I spent the last 3 years trying to help my DREAM GIRL make OUR dream wedding come true," he wrote. "For me, Amanda will always [come] first. I have a life partner who is AMAZING in all the best ways but also makes me want to be the best version of me for HER."
He also showed his gratitude to Summer House fans as he and Amanda continue to share their journey with viewers. "Thanks for the support over the years; it ain’t easy being a couple on a reality show," Kyle said. "Spoiler alert…love wins in the end. xoxo."
As Kyle noted, there is a happy ending here. He and Amanda tied the knot on September 25, 2021, a moment we will get to see later on this season of Summer House. But the road to the altar may have a few more bumps, as you can see in the below teaser of what's still to come in Season 6.
