Why? Because the pair took a big step in their post-breakup relationship by introducing their dogs for the first time.
Southern Charm fans are already well acquainted with Shep's pooch, Lil Craig, and Taylor introduced hers — a puppy she got in August 2022 named Penelope — earlier this season.

Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green Establish a Friendship
As Shep explained on the episode, he hoped that by introducing Lil Craig and Penelope, he and Taylor would be able to forge a stronger friendship moving forward.
"Some people would say it's unfair what I want, which is to have a nice relationship with Taylor — not romantic," Shep said in a confessional interview. "But I'm inexperienced in this territory. This is uncharted waters."
Speaking to Taylor on the matter, he told her, "I do like seeing you. It makes me happy. And I think because we know each other so well, I think there's some value in that."
She ultimately agreed, adding, "Blue skies ahead."
Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green's Conversation About the Austen Kroll and Olivia Flowers Drama
With Taylor and Olivia's friendship on the fritz after the former revealed she kissed the latter's ex, Shep recommended Taylor "figure out" a way to fix things. What's more, "I would just say, 'I'm sorry, I should've told you immediately. It will never ever happen again and if you'll have me, I'd like to stay around and be your friend.'"
Taylor agreed with Shep, noting, "Yeah, I breached trust with a friend — a very good friend."
An Update on Lil Craig After His Health Scare
It may be "blue skies ahead" for Shep and Taylor's relationship, but can the same be said for Lil Craig after the pup faced a serious health scare on Season 9, Episode 6?
According to Shep, yes. As he told Taylor on the latest episode of Southern Charm, "[I] had a consultation with the vet. I'm gonna get his nasal passages fixed."
