Shep Rose Saved His Dog Lil Craig From Getting “Swept Away” in a River
The Southern Charm cast member shared how he sprung into action to save his "little best friend."
Shep Rose recently had a scary incident involving his dog, Lil Craig. The Southern Charm cast member took to Instagram to share how his beloved pup had to be rescued after getting “swept away” in a river following heavy rainstorms in the area.
On May 22, Shep recounted the dramatic experience on social media, sharing a photo of himself holding Lil Craig under one arm while wearing soaking wet jeans. “So it’s been raining for 3 straight days in Linville. And what were once docile streams have become raging rivers. We almost lost @goodboycraig today to the perils of Mother Nature,” he wrote in the caption. “The little tyke learned a hard lesson when he inexplicably pranced into the river like it was a kiddie pool. And was swept away.”
The Southern Charm-er went on to explain that the pooch was able to stay afloat in the water while he was rescued, despite not being the best swimmer. “I sprung into action but it took me a few seconds to get down to the bank and he swam like a maniac to get to shore,” he wrote, sharing a video of the river in a second slide. “I jumped in and saved my little best friend but it was a tense few moments.”
Despite the frightening experience, Lil Craig is now doing just fine. "As you can see by his expression he really appreciates my heroic sacrifice,” Shep wrote of his pooch.
