Scheana Shay Discusses Her $50,000 Divorce Settlement with Mike Shay

Earlier this week it was confirmed that Scheana Shay and Mike Shay had finalized their divorce, after confirming their split back in November. In the process of ironing out their divorce settlement, the Vanderpump Rules SURver agreed to pay her ex-husband $50,000. Now she's speaking out about the decision in an interview with The Tomorrow Show With Kevin Undergaro.

"It was very amicable and as much as I didn't want to give $50,000 to a person with a drug problem, he deserved it for just being a part of the show for so long and my life and my story, and I'm like, 'Look, I'm not trying to like cut you out and leave you high and dry so here's how much we have is that okay,' and he agreed," she said, via E! News. "I just hope he's doing something useful with this."

According to E! News, she told her former husband that he should invest part of the money, $10,000, into a retirement account. She noted, however, "He wasn't a person who was ever really good with money."

Scheana and Mike emotionally hashed out the end of their marriage during the Season 5 reunion, which wrapped last month (clip above). And Scheana, who is currently dating Robert Valletta, revealed the moment she knew her marriage to Shay was over in an interview with The Daily Dish. She said it was when she found texts on his phone that he was exchanging with another woman. "It was just one thing that I knew I would never fully be able to get over. I can forgive, but it changed our sex life, it changed our relationship, it broke trust. I just wasn't able to come back from that," Scheana said. "A year later, I was still putting on a fake smile and a happy face, and we took a second honeymoon, and it just never fully got back to where we were, as hard as I tried."
