Sanya Richards-Ross Offers an Update on Her Family Amid “Very Explosive” RHOA Season 15
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member teased a “fun” wild ride as the rest of Season 15 plays out.
Peaches are officially in season! The Real Housewives of Atlanta is back, and Season 15 is shaping up to be a juicy one. But according to cast member Sanya Richards-Ross, viewers are in for an even juicier time as the rest of the season unfolds. (You can catch a glimpse of the drama in the clip above.)
In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the former Olympic athlete spilled some tea on what’s to come. “This season is a lot of fun but very explosive,” Sanya said. “Last season we were resetting a lot. There were changes in the cast. This season it feels like we have really settled in. I feel like I’m fitting into the group. And I have a lot going on with my family.”
As viewers saw during RHOA Season 14, Sanya’s family is never far from her. She has a full house, with her mom, dad, sisters, and nephews all living in her beautifully furnished basement. (Be sure to take a tour of Sanya’s Jamaican-inspired living space.)
Even though Sanya has a lot going on in her life, she’s starting to hit her stride on RHOA now that she’s no longer a newbie.
Sanya Reflects on Her First Two Seasons of RHOA
Reflecting on Season 14, Sanya said: “I did have a lot of fun. But I feel so much better [in my second season] because I was really able to build real, meaningful relationships with the girls. I had real skin in the game. I am able to show more of my personality.”
Sanya has also learned how to express herself more easily. “I’ve learned now to just say it,” she told the news outlet. “I don’t have to sound perfect. I say how I feel a lot more this year. And it’s easier to express yourself when you know the people better.”
Sanya Shares an Update on Her Friendships
Sanya admitted that she found Kenya Moore a bit off-putting at first. “She can be intimidating if you disagree with her,” Sanya said. “She’s quite the wordsmith. Of all the girls, she will read you for real.” But Sanya made sure to point out that “deep down” Kenya “has a great heart.”
The athlete also revealed that she and Kandi Burruss have become particularly close. The two moms even took their kids to Disney World together. Plus, Sanya admires Kandi’s business savvy.
“Kandi is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to being smart and strategic,” she said. “Everything she does fits her brand. I try to do the same thing.”

While Sanya and her family are experiencing some ups and downs this season, she told the publication that “I enjoy sharing my life and family with everyone."
