Ryan Serhant Celebrated a Texas-Sized First Easter with Wife Emilia
The #MDLNY agent and his wife had a very eventful holiday filled with cattle and egg smashing.
Deep in the heart of Texas, Ryan Serhant and Emilia Bechrakis Serhant celebrated their first Easter as a married couple. It was a big deal for the Million Dollar Listing New York agent, because the way his wife celebrates the holiday is very different from how he's celebrated in the past. But, we'll let him explain.
"Being Greek makes everything more eventful. At Easter you don't just wake up and go to church and look for Easter Eggs with candy or money in them. No. Forget all that. Greek Easter starts the night BEFORE, with a raging party at a Greek Monastery till 1 AM. No chocolate, just fire, candles, and very old Greek monks," he said.
He continued, "Then you wake up at 5 AM (or @brianlreich does because you may still be sleeping) and you start cooking the lamb (or brisket if you're in Texas). Then you cook for 7 hours and prep the RED EGG DO OR DIE contest. No more hunting for eggs in the garden. When you're Greek, you get your eggs automatically and then you smash them against everyone else's to see whose egg is the strongest. The strongest egg brings luck for 1 year to that person. And they get to live - bonus. I can't be the #1 broker in New York without a little luck too. Happy Easter and Xristos Anesti to everyone and your loved ones."
The trip to Texas for the Easter celebrations didn't just include egg dyeing and reflection. It also included plenty of cattle.
Oh, and the couple also made time for peach margaritas. A true Easter suucess!
