Ryan Serhant Shares His Favorite NYC Hot Spots
The 'MDLNY' star reveals where to go and what to do to make the most of your Big Apple outing.
If you’re booking a trip to the Big Apple and looking for recommendations on where to go and what to do while you’re there, who better to take advice from than Ryan Serhant?
The Million Dollar Listing New York star is no stranger to the city that never sleeps and he recently shared some of his absolute favorite hot spots.
It should be no surprise that Times Square tops the list. It holds particular significance for both himself and his better half, Emilia, who’s originally from Greece. “Times Square has a special meaning for us—two kids from such different cities who found each other in NYC,” he explains to the New York Post. “Emilia always speaks about Times Square as being a truly unique New York space—where so many types, cultures and people come together, the kind of place where you are never alone.”
And while most New Yorkers spend summer weekends zipping off east to the Hamptons, Ryan admits that he prefers staying put. “We actually enjoy sticking around the city during the summer,” he says. “Manhattan seems to empty out on weekends, and being here feels a bit like a mini-staycation.”
”During the summer you can usually find us hanging out along the Hudson River Promenade—especially in the mornings,” he says. “I loved this place when I lived in West Chelsea and I love it now down in Hudson Square. Plus, it’s very close to my office in Tribeca.”
Speaking of business, Ryan has the perfect suit shop for you if you want to look like a million bucks. “I wear suits all day, everyday—sometimes even two a day—but finding suits can be a challenge since I’m 6 foot 3 inches and 210 pounds,” he admits. “So I shop a lot of Suitsupply, whose suits are incredibly durable, high-quality and can be custom tailored in a few hours. They know my size now, so I don’t even need to be fitted there anymore. I just choose a color, and I’m done.”
Once you’re looking sharp in your suit, Ryan suggests hitting the town and heading to Tao—especially if you want to make some new friends. “It’s a melting pot for the who’s who in downtown right now,” he says of the Asian fusion restaurant and nightclub. “I never leave without seeing five people I know and meeting 10 people I didn’t know before.”
