Real Housewives of Potomac's Robyn and Juan Dixon: Look Back at Their Relationship

These high school sweethearts have walked down the aisle twice, suffered through a divorce and are now facing new rumors about Juan Dixon's commitment to his wife, Robyn.

High school sweethearts Robyn and Juan Dixon’s lengthy love affair has had its setbacks, but The Real Housewives of Potomac castmate and her former NBA player hubby remain committed to each other.

Their more than two-decades long romance has included two marriages, a divorce, a reconciliation, the births of their now teenage sons, Corey and Carter, and new rumors that Juan was talking to another woman during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To delve deeper into the couple’s highs and lows over the years, here’s a recap of the unconventional romance:

1996: Robyn Dixon was a senior at Maryland’s McDonough High when she noticed a hot-shot basketball player from rival Calvert Hall High School was checking her out in the mid-1990s.

The player turned out to be Juan Dixon, then just a junior in high school.

“It got to the point where he just kept staring at me and not saying anything,” Robyn told the Washingtonian in 2003. “I waited for him outside the locker room one day. He turned around and said, ‘Hey don’t I know you?’ It was so cheesy.”

The couple continued their romance at the University of Maryland, where Juan played basketball and got a degree in family studies and Robin earned a degree in business marketing

2002: After leading Maryland to a NCAA championship, Dixon — a first round draft choice — was signed to a three year deal with the NBA’s Washington Wizards for $3.15 million, The Associated Press reported at the time. To celebrate, Juan bought a six-bedroom home in Silver Spring which he was all too happy to share with his girlfriend, Robyn.

"I try to give him a reality check every so often," Robyn told the Washingtonian of their early good fortune. "I mean how many people our age are choosing what kind of marble tile to put down?"

2005: The couple tied the knot three years later in 2005. That same year, according to US Weekly, Juan signed with the Portland Trail Blazers as a free agent.

2008: The couple’s first son, Corey, was born. His brother, Carter, followed two years later.

Robyn and Juan Dixon's Divorce

2012: By 2012, cracks in the couple’s marriage, and reports of Juan’s infidelity, tore them apart and they divorced.

“We got divorced because we weren’t in a good place in our relationship and there was kind of some infidelity and we weren’t really in tune and connected,” Robyn told OK! Magazine in 2016. “Something had to change, and unfortunately it was drastic.”

2016: Robyn joined The Real Housewives of Potomac as one the original cast members in 2016. In the series’ first episode, she gave viewers a glimpse into the unusual life she led with her ex-husband.

“Juan and I have a very unconventional relationship,” she explained. “We are divorced, we live together, we raise our kids together, sleep in the same bed together.”

Although they shared the same address, she told close Gizelle Bryant they weren’t exclusively together.

As Robyn explained to OK! Magazine, Juan moved back into her home about two years after the divorce, when they realized they will “always be family and connected.”

“The best way at that time to live life was to congregate together and be supportive to each other,” Robyn said. “We are each other’s best friend and supporter — and the best way to get through some of the things we were going through was together.”

Robyn Dixon's Wedding

2019: At some point, the romantic spark reignited and Juan proposed to Robyn once again at a holiday party in 2019. The moment was captured in RHOP Season 5

“Robyn has been my rock, my mountain, for some many years through the ups and the downs, the mother of our beautiful boys, Corey and Carter,” he said before dropping to one knee and pulling out a ring as the party guests screamed.

2022: Robyn and Juan were married for a second time in an intimate ceremony in August 2022. Surrounded only by their sons and Robyn’s parents, the pair exchanged heartfelt vows in a moment captured in the Season 7 finale.

“For our boys, I hope that this is a memory they have forever, and they realize how important family is,” Robyn said.

2023: It hasn’t been all wedded bliss. Robyn revealed on her podcast Reasonably Shady with Gizelle that before they tied the knot a second time, Juan was communicating during the pandemic with a woman he met on Instagram.

The woman later released a hotel receipt with Juan’s name on it, but Robyn has insisted Juan only paid for her hotel room after she lost her wallet. She insists there was no physical component to the relationship.

“I believe him,” she said on a Feb. 5, 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live.

Robyn never addressed the allegations in Season 7, but fans will have to wait to see whether she addresses the controversy in the upcoming new season premiering on Bravo Nov. 5.
