It’s frequently acknowledged that Melissa Gorga’s celebrity doppelgänger is Jennifer Lopez. (Though, as you can see in the clip above, Melissa did “let” Jennifer Aydin dress as J.Lo for a Halloween party.) So what happens when Melissa, Joe Gorga, and Jennifer Lopez come together for one epic night at the movies? The results can be seen in The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member’s Instagram feed — and in J.Lo’s as well.
In a May 5 post, the Envy by Melissa Gorga boutique owner was wearing a hot-pink number for a red-hot date night in the city. Melissa showed off her bright blazer dress in a carousel of photos. The pictures showed her posing at the premiere of The Mother, Lopez’s new flick. Joe joined her for a snap in front of the step-and-repeat.
Melissa’s fashion earned rave reviews in the comments section, which included a shout-out from Shahs of Sunset’s Mercedes Javid. “Gorgeous! What a hot color,” the Los Angeles real estate agent wrote.
So the fashion was on point, but how was the movie? “[Jennifer Lopez] is outstanding in it,” Melissa captioned her post. “Amazing job to a brilliant producer [Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas].”
Joe had similar thoughts on the film. In his feed, he shared a photo of himself and Melissa at the premiere and captioned his post with an endorsement for The Mother. “Congratulations [Jennifer and Elaine] on a great movie,” the entrepreneur wrote.
In her Instagram Stories, Melissa shared another behind-the-scenes peek at the premiere, along with a rousing caption: “Must See!” Now here’s where things get interesting: Lopez herself caught wind of Melissa’s post and reposted it in her own Instagram Stories. Melissa shared more details from the starry evening in her Instagram Stories. In one post, she captured two fizzing flutes of champagne and green-and-white plates bearing The Polo Bar logo. The New Jersey mama captioned the romantic photo with a red heart emoji. In her later Stories, Melissa shared a video of Lopez and her producer speaking onstage at the premiere.
This isn’t the first time Melissa has crossed paths with her look-alike. Back in 2020, she and Joe flew to Miami to attend the Super Bowl, where J.Lo performed at halftime.
After the big game, the couple had cake with the headlining act herself. Melissa shared photos of the star cutting into a massive, five-tiered confection, and voiced her support for J.Lo once again. “She killed it!” she wrote of the halftime show.
