Shannon and Tamra Tease RHOC Season 17 and Vicki’s Return: “Instant Silly Crazy”
The orange holders also dished on new ’Wife Jennifer Pedranti and “hot mess” Taylor Armstrong.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is officially returning on Wednesday, June 7, and two of the season’s orange holders have teased that Season 17 will be the juiciest one yet.
On the April 25 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, cast member Shannon Storms Beador confirmed that the season will keep fans intrigued from start to finish.
“I am so excited because I was there. It’s good,” she said.
Shannon and Tamra Judge, who is back on the cast two seasons after she departed, discussed exactly what fans can expect to see on Season 17 during an Instagram Live with Bravo TV. The livestream took place just moments after the trailer dropped. Find out everything Shannon and Tamra revealed about the new season below.
Tamra and Shannon will mend their friendship
The two noted that the season starts off with them airing out their own past friendship issues, and things turn “downright nasty.”
“There are some things, and they might even start out between you and I,” Shannon said, adding that she had the “un-smoothest” reconciliation with Tamra. However, Shannon said she was excited that Tamra was back on RHOC, and that the two were able to patch things up (as evidenced by them sitting together to chat about the season).
“Having Tamra come back this year was an absolute game changer for the show. You’re riveting TV,” Shannon said as Tamra made a pot-stirring motion with her hands.
The Tres Amigas will reunite thanks to Vicki Gunvalson’s return
Once Shannon and Tamra got back to a positive place, it was only fitting that the OG of the OC herself, Vicki Gunvalson, pop in to complete the Tres Amigas.
“There’s just something about it. When the three of us get together, it’s just an instant silly crazy,” Shannon said about the Tres Amigas, and Tamra agreed that it was “a dream come true” to see Vicki again on the show. “We really have so much fun together. What I love about our friendship is that it’s genuine.”
Tamra and newbie Jennifer Pedranti faced “bumps” in their relationship
In addition to marking Tamra’s return, RHOC Season 17 will also welcome new ’Wife Jennifer Pedranti. Though she’s connected to the group through Tamra (who confirmed that Jennifer used to train for fitness competitions at CUT Fitness), the pair didn’t have an entirely smooth journey together on the show.
“Her and I had some things to figure out, because we had some bumps in our friendship a few years ago,” Tamra teased. “Big bumps, and we straightened them out — I think.”
Shannon called Taylor Armstrong a “hot mess”
Vicki isn’t the only former ’Wife who will appear on Season 17. Taylor Armstrong, who was previously a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, will make history on Season 17 as the first Housewife to ever cross franchises.
While Taylor already knew Tamra and Vicki from their days on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club, she quickly formed a friendship with Shannon as well.
“One of my new favorite people ever… is Taylor Armstrong,” Shannon said. “That girl is kind of a hot mess in the most amazing, incredible way. There’s a little bit of a hot mess bond that we share.”
The two described RHOC Season 17 in three words
In the closing moments of the Instagram Live, the RHOC cast members were asked to come up with three words to describe the drama on the upcoming season.
“Backstabbing, lying, epic,” they agreed. Tamra also noted that there’s no shortage of drama on Season 17.
“There’s so much more drama on the show than you can even imagine,” Tamra concluded. “I don’t think we’ve ever had a season so filled with drama as we do [with] this one.”
You can see it all go down when Season 17 premieres on Wednesday, June 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
