PK Reflects On His "Epic Nonetheless" Anniversary Surprise for Dorit Kemsley
ICYMI, Paul Kemsley put together an anniversary surprise for his wife that was featured in RHOBH Season 13, Episode 2.
Paul "PK" Kemsley attempted to take Dorit Kemsley's breath away when he put together an over-the-top surprise for his wife to commemorate their anniversary. The celebration paid homage to the classic rom-com, Pretty Woman, and it even included a surprise cameo from the band Berlin, among other surprises. It was also captured on camera and featured in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Season 13, Episode 2.
Now, PK is reflecting on that big event and sharing his take on it all today. "So a big thank you to my great friends [Berlin] for helping me make a suprise for [Dorit] on [this week's] RHOBH … things don’t go totally according to plan, but it was epic nonetheless," he reflected in a post he shared to Instagram on Nov. 1, the same day the episode aired. Dorit, for the record, pressed the like button on his Instagram.

ICYMI, PK's anniversary surprise for Dorit included red-hot couture, a glam squad, tasty food, lavish decor, and, yes, a $5,000,000 necklace.
And while Berlin's song "Take My Breath Away," which they performed for Dorit has nothing to the with the film Pretty Woman, the moment was truly unforgettable amid some ups and downs for the couple.
"We haven't had the best year of our marriage, and I want to really recognize Dorit and my anniversary," PK explained to Kyle Richards in the episode as to why he wanted to throw together such an over-the-top moment for his wife.
Later on at the anniversary celebration, there was even more on hand to make the special occasion, including roses and candles... as well as that performance from Berlin, which PK explained to his wife was picked for a special reason: "I wanted to take your breath away like you do mine."

In the RHOBH episode, Dorit shared her reaction to her husband's anniversary surprise. "This is like so exciting and so nerve-wracking," she said, adding in an interview, "The last few hours have definitely been anxiety-provoking. So just like Julia Roberts in the movie, I'm gonna leave my reality behind for one night and live out my movie fantasy."
Dorit also explained in the episode why the lavish setup wasn't totally unexpected, given their history of how they celebrate one another: "PK and I have always been big on surprising one another and big, grand reveals."

In the same episode of RHOBH, the couple also reflected on the current state of their relationship as Dorit continues to deal with PTSD. "You know I have anxieties and I'm not my best yet," she said, "and I'm gonna need you along the way."
PK, however, opened up about the fact that he "definitely struggle[s] to understand the PTSD thing."
While they both agreed "we can always get better," Dorit offered more insight into her POV on their issues as well as the anniversary event in an interview in the episode.
"Right now, I don't need a big gesture," she began. "I need help from PK with the kids, with the house, with work, schedules. I need him to step up and say, 'I'm gonna take care of this. That's not his personality, so I'm gonna have to work on him being able to help me — which is gonna take more out of me. And I'm not sure I'll ever get there."
