You Won't Believe What Alex McCord Is Doing for a Living These Days
Andy Cohen just gave us a major update on the #RHONY alum.
We can always count on Andy Cohen to spill the tea, and this bit of news is piping hot. The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host recently shared some huge intel about Real Housewives of New York City alum Alex McCord on Twitter Wednesday.
Andy sent a big mazel out to Alex, who just became a psychologist, he shared. "Too bad she is all the way in Australia, a thriving NYC practice awaits," he tweeted.
Alex decided to leave the Big Apple behind and move to Byron Bay, Australia a couple of years ago with her husband, Simon van Kempen, and their two sons, Francois and Johan. She revealed that she was studying psychology during an interview with the Australian morning show Sunrise last July. She even said that her time on RHONY has come in handy during her studies. "I'm so happy we're here. It's fodder for my studying psychology now, which is what I'm doing," she shared.
On RHONY, we saw Alex work in merchandising and design, as well as explore other career interests, including modeling.
The family ultimately decided to make the move Down Under in order to be closer to Simon's family in his native country. These days, Simon owns a local law firm and the boys have just gone back to school. "It's a massive change for them. For the first 10 years of their life for basically each of them, it was the high rise, the buildings, the bustle of New York, and funnily enough, they're back at living where I was living at their age," Simon said of how the kids are adjusting to the move on Sunrise. "We're giving them a sort of sense of what I grew up with, and plus, they're with our family, and learning to live with family is part of what growing up's all about."
We imagine that the absolutely breathtaking surroundings in Alex's new home aren't too bad, either.
