Project Runway Season 18 Eliminated Contestant from Episode 3 Speaks Out
Christian Siriano jokes that this designer may have "drove him to drink," but he's definitely going to miss this person.
Christian Siriano started out this week of the Project Runway After Show by saying, "Alan. I know you already miss him," and it couldn't be more true. Luckily, as Christian noted, we got to sit down with Alan Gonzalez, who was eliminated on Project Runway Season 18 Episode 3, one more time for one last helping of "Alan-tude" to discuss what went wrong and what sent him home.
This week's challenge was Unconventional Holiday in which the designers had to create a holiday party cocktail dress using any of the decorations they could find in their penthouse living room. Unfortunately for Alan, who at age 24 was the youngest of this season's designers, it didn't work out as planned.
"I grabbed a lot of stuff, and it was a lot of nothing. I was like, 'Oh, Alan, you didn't think this through at all,'" Alan explained, agreeing that he did grab the most materials but couldn't conceptualize what he wanted to make. "It came down to the styling. So I thought that the look was going to... I didn't know how to close it in, and I got lost."
