See Every Glamorous Detail from Christian Siriano’s “Romantic” Spring 2024 NYFW Show
The Project Runway mentor celebrated his 15th anniversary with an “elegant” show at an “iconic New York venue.”
Visions of sugar plums danced in our heads at Christian Siriano’s 15th anniversary show at New York Fashion Week, where “the darker side of a ballerina” was on full glamorous display.
“I brought it back to the roots,” Christian told BravoTV.com about his dreamy Spring 2024 fashion show, which celebrated the 15th anniversary of his namesake label that launched in 2008. “For me, it was like, when did I fall in love with evening wear? And it was when I was a ballet dancer. [It’s] the idea of fantasy and transformation. Seeing black clothes […] and then into Sugar Plum Fairies and… that’s what I wanted tonight.”
As for the locale, the Project Runway Season 4 winner chose the “fabulous” Pierre Hotel located on New York City’s Upper East Side, an ideal space for both opulence and wonder. “We wanted an iconic New York venue that really just felt magical and transformative… where you feel like you’re in a different world,” he shared.
Ahead of the event, Christian took to Instagram with a photo of himself and his “model muses” to celebrate his successful years in the “insane” fashion industry. “Here is to a beautiful day showcasing art that we get to live our lives in,” he concluded the post.
Scroll down to see more details from the star-studded affair, which Christian indicated in an Instagram video gave all the “modern ballerina” vibes.
Christian Siriano’s 15th Anniversary New York Fashion Week Show
Per BravoTV.com’s interview with Christian, we could definitely see how his childhood experience as a dancer infused the extravagant, pristine, and fairytale-like elements in his designs.
While the show opened with an all-black succession of corset shapes, structured suiting, and sexy, sheer plays with mesh and tulle, the Black Swan ballerina gradually unfolded into gold and metallic brocade, and eventually balletcore pink.
True to form, Christian celebrated body diversity across his collection with models who strutted their stuff in elegant suits, sparkly ruffle details, lace and floral appliqués, and, of course, romantic tulle.
“It’s so so important to celebrate beauty in all its shapes and sizes and I hope the industry can figure out a way to do that more moving forward BUT for team SIRIANO it will never ever be a question!” Christian captioned an Instagram video re-share from Remi Bader, a TikToker who focuses on body positivity in fashion.
In addition to the ballerina vibes, Christian’s collection also featured stunning metallic ombré silk pieces, which the designer deemed “a must for the season” in another Instagram post.
We were also taken with the beauty looks for the show, which included beautiful pink ribbons in both long, tousled tresses and gorgeous French-braided updos via TRESemmé and head stylist Lacy Redway.
The pretty pink makeup was provided by celebrity-favorite makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, while the jewelry came from Josh Levkoff Jewelry.
Christian ended the show with a few fabulous frocks made up of pink and black tulle with additional multicolor embellishments.
“When one of my longtime friends SIA shows up to sing and my model muse Coco closes the show! WOW what a dream!” Christian wrote in an Instagram post, referring to model Coco Rocha, who has closed out (and danced!) at Christian’s shows in the past.
Christian’s posts also showcased his pal, pop star Sia, who sang “Diamonds” for the closing number — a hit track she wrote for Rihanna in 2012.
In addition to Sia, Christian’s show was also populated by a slew of stars, including actresses Laverne Cox, Quinta Brunson, and Sarah Hyland, as well as Top Chef alum Padma Lakshmi.
The show also saw singer Janet Jackson, actresses Laura Linney, Alicia Silverstone, and Rosie Perez, as well as singers Avril Lavigne and Kesha showing their support in the front row.
Following the affair, Christian grabbed a group photo with his various celebrity friends and confidants — the likes of which he’s dressed for glamorous occasions, such as the Met Gala, the Academy Awards, and more.
Christian took to Instagram to celebrate after the show, expressing his appreciation for a successful event and ongoing career in fashion.
“Thank you, everyone, for all the love and support this week!” he exclaimed in the post, posing in front of some of the stunning dresses from the show. “These beautiful flowers are from [Avril Lavigne] who I admire so much so thank you love. It’s such an honor to create for you! Fan for life.”
