Nene Leakes Finally Explained Why She Barely Spoke at RHOA Season 11 Reunion
A year later, the RHOA cast member is breaking her silence.
Usually, a Real Housewives reunion is best remembered by the outrageous things that were said or done during the taping. But thanks to Nene Leakes, that wasn't necessarily the case for The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 11 reunion. The OG Housewife actually made her mark by keeping quiet: With the exception of some heated words exchanged with Cynthia Bailey, Nene had a fairly silent reunion. And nearly a year later, she has finally explained why.
During an interview on The Breakfast Club, Nene revealed that she doesn't necessarily love the reunions. "We get there at 6 o'clock in the morning. You're there until almost midnight. It's very stressful," she said.
In addition to the long hours, there's another thing that rubs Nene the wrong way. "It's like walking into the lion's den. Everybody's got something to say... so everybody's trying to prove themselves. So people are nasty," she said. "I hate it. But you just have to perform."
Nene went on to say that although there's some tense competition, she has no desire to engage in it.
"I don't care to perform. I didn't perform last year. I pretty much just sat there, and everybody knows that," she said. "I'm very real. That's why I was sitting there, not saying a whole lot."
