Vicki Gunvalson Reacts to Meghan King Edmonds' Husband Jim's Alleged Cheating
The OG of The Real Housewives of Orange County once said this marriage wouldn't last.
Meghan King Edmonds may not have always been the best of friends with Vicki Gunvalson during her three seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County, but the OG is showing support for the alum in the wake of the cheating allegations against her husband Jim Edmonds.
Vicki was sympathetic toward Meghan on Twitter following a report that Jim had been unfaithful to his wife in March 2018. "I’m so sorry. You are right, YOU did not deserve this," Vicki responded to a tweet in which Meghan shared a link to a blog post where she responded to her husband's cheating allegations.
Vicki previously cast doubt on the longevity of Meghan and Jim's marriage on RHOC, saying that she didn't believe their relationship would last. As the couple approached their third wedding anniversary in 2017, Meghan tweeted, "The three years Vicki gave my marriage is almost up! Uh oh!"
But then Vicki soon clarified her statement on Twitter. "I think I actually gave it 5, and then retracted because it appears you and Jimmy are very happy!" she tweeted in response to Meghan at the time.
Meghan has received support from many other West Coast 'Wives as she goes through this difficult time. Gretchen Rossi, Tamra Judge, Lizzie Rovsek, and Lydia McLaughlin all sent messages of love to Meghan in the comments of one of her Instagram posts that says, "Healing takes time."
Brandi Glanville, who experienced her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian's infidelity in the public eye, also told Meghan that she's here for her during this difficult time. "I'm so sorry @MeghanKEdmonds just read your blog [and] I get it more than anyone. You will get though this but [it's] extremely hard to get over it," Brandi tweeted. "Emotional affairs [and] continued sexual flirtations are almost worse than physical affairs."
Jim admitted to "a lapse in judgment" last year when he "engaged in an inappropriate conversation" with a woman via text message in a statement to Us Weekly last week. “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none," he said.
The former MLB player said that he was "sorry" and that he "made a mistake" during an interview with TMZ Sports after the news broke. "We're just gonna have to work through it," Jim said of how he and Meghan plan to get their relationship back on track.
Meghan spoke out about Jim's cheating in a blog post on her website published on June 14 titled "I'm Sad." Though Jim emphasized he "never had any sort of a physical relationship outside of my marriage with her or anyone else" in his statement to Us Weekly, she was still skeptical. "Do I believe him? I don’t know. Because I don’t trust him anymore," she wrote. "Physical or not, he still had an affair and he admits this to me."
However, Meghan is also staying optimistic that she and Jim can overcome this. "I am a victim, but I am not defined by this. I need space to heal," she said in her blog post. "Ultimately, I have hope our marriage can recover."
