Marlo Hampton Sets the Record Straight on Her Career: “My Money Works for Me”
The Atlanta ladies discussed both Marlo’s and Ralph Pittman’s careers on the RHOA After Show.
Drew Sidora and Marlo Hampton found themselves going back and forth on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 15 Episode 8, and eventually, Marlo brought up Drew’s then-husband, Ralph Pittman.
More specifically, Marlo made a reference to his career after Drew sarcastically asked her, “What’s your career?”
“Same thing your husband does,” Marlo replied. “We’re both in technology.”
Drew wasn’t happy with Marlo bringing up Ralph, but the exchange sparked a conversation that later continued on The Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show. Read on to see what Drew, Marlo, and the other ladies had to say about not just Ralph’s career but also Marlo’s.
What does Ralph Pittman do for a living?
According to Drew, Ralph is “a global executive” who’s tasked with “advising companies on how to stay competitive” and “how to stay in business when technology is ever-changing.”
Drew issued the explanation after some prodding from Kandi Burruss, who jokingly said, “Drew, you’re sounding like you don’t know.”
The pair’s RHOA castmates shared a similar sentiment, with Sanya Richards-Ross telling Marlo and Shereé Whitfield, “Ralph has explained to me 55 times what he does and I still have no idea… His wife can’t explain what he does, so how the hell do you want me to explain it?”
Kenya Moore also noted that “technology” — the field Ralph supposedly works in — “is very broad.”
What does Marlo Hampton do for a living?
In addition to working in technology, Marlo said she makes money by “own[ing] properties” and that she “invested a nice lump sum when [she] did date a billionaire.”
As Sanya explained on her behalf, Marlo “gets paid to be Marlo.”
“She was an influencer before influencing was a thing,” Sanya continued. “She shows up and does her thing. Obviously, she has Le’Archive. She also works on this show. People act like we don’t get paid to be on this show. So it’s like Marlo gets paid to do all the things that she does just being Marlo.”
Addressing the speculation around her career, Marlo said, “What I realize is a lot of girls who brag about everything they have and what they do, and I’m looking at them like, ‘Sweetie, my money works for me. You’re working for your money.’ It’s like, just stop it.”
Sanya also pointed out that Marlo doesn’t “have a mortgage.”
“Your house is paid off,” she added. “All the money you make doing what you’re doing, you can save up and live a fabulous life. Sh-t, I wish I had no damn mortgage.”
