Sutton Stracke Breaks Down Her Friendship with Lisa Rinna: "She’s a Fortress"
The RHOBH pal dishes about how she knows Rinna.
Lisa Rinna and Sutton Stracke were somewhat at odds during the May 13 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. When the women gathered to celebrate Rinna's daughters' Delilah Belle Hamlin and Amelia Gray Hamlin's fashion line, DNA, Sutton was anxious she'd run into a mutual friend, makeup artist Joey Maalouf, she was having some issues with.
He wasn't there, but comments she made to Dorit Kemsley about losing her cool at the event if he was there caused a stir at dinner later that evening (clip above).
So now, viewers may be wondering a bit more about Rinna and Sutton's friendship, which began many years ago. The Daily Dish recently spoke to Sutton, who offered some insight into her relationship with Lisa Rinna.
"We do have a lot in common with like our children. That’s a definite commonality. And she was helpful to me years ago helping me [by] writing a letter of recommendation for my daughter to go to high school and that kind of thing," Sutton explained. "And [she's] really helping me [now] 'cause my daughter is a senior in high school and going to college and making that transition."
Sutton has three kids with her ex-husband, Christian Stracke: two sons, Philip and James, and her daughter, Porter, who was recently accepted into the College of William and Mary.
While the two women did deal with some interpersonal issues on RHOBH on Wednesday's episode, Sutton has nothing but compliments for Rinna. "She’s such a sturdy person. She’s a fortress. She doesn’t seek approval from anyone," Sutton said. "I don’t have a lot of friends like that. So it’s just a different kind of friendship for me."
Sutton also noted that her friendship with Rinna has recently taken an interesting evolution: "She does not bulls--t. And I really like that about her. And I think there’s a part in the fall when we were all together that Lisa and I all of a sudden made a turn in our friendship, which I was surprised and really delighted by. Like, 'This is cool.'"
