Kyle Richards Reflects on 24-Year Marriage to Mauricio Umansky: “You Hit Forks in the Road”

Just weeks after celebrating her 24-year wedding anniversary with husband Mauricio Umansky, Kyle Richards is opening up about what makes their relationship work. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom recently got candid about how she and Mauricio stay “on the same page,” even after more than two decades of marriage.

Anyone involved in a long-term relationship is bound to see some major changes in both themselves and their partner, and Kyle says she and Mauricio are no exception.

“I met my husband at 23 years old and you change a lot during those times,” she told Us Weekly. “You know, you hit forks in the road — I think they say you change every seven years? I don’t know, I think it’s probably less than that — but you hit a fork in the road and you can either go together on that road or you see things differently and you go on different roads.”

She went on to reveal that the key to their relationship is staying aligned on fundamental issues, including how to parent their daughters.  “We’ve always been on the same page with our goals and our morals and how we want to raise our children and what we want out of life, so that’s made it easier,” she said.

Throughout the years of changes and ups and downs, Kyle says the one thing that has remained constant is their lasting support of each other. “I mean, he was a kid and now he’s a man. I was a kid too and I’m a woman … but we’ve really allowed each other to be ourselves and support each other through that because that’s a big part of it,” she explained.
