Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz Have an Update on Their Baby Plans
The couple opened up about their plans for the future, including whether they'd welcome another lizard to the family.
Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney-Schwartz got married in August 2016, and then tied the knot once more after realizing they were never officially married. So what’s next for the couple now that they’ve finally sorted out their nuptials? Babies? More lizards? The couple opened up about their plans for the future on a recent episode of Katie’s brand new Dear Media podcast, You’re Gonna Love Me.
While talking about their beloved late lizard, Daug, Tom joked about his fear of commitment, explaining that he’s not quite sure if he’s planning to get another reptile, because it could “easily outlive” him. Tom’s hesitation to welcome another lizard into the family was the perfect segue into a conversation about babies, which apparently, was a question plenty of listeners had asked.
“So everyone also was asking us about babies, when we’re going to have a baby, but you heard Mr. Commitmentphobe, himself,” said Katie.
“I’ve gotten better about being in the present, and not living in the future, like we talked about,” said Tom. “But I’m still kind of living in the present, like, we’ll have a baby when the time is right, when I have, you know…”
“Honey,” Katie interrupted, “We’re not getting any younger. We’re going to have a baby.”
“Let’s go make a baby. Let’s end right there,” he said.
“It doesn’t work like that. I got the app, and right now, tonight is not the time,” said Katie. “But we can practice.”
Besides nature getting in the way, Tom joked that there is also one other minor roadblock for the couple. “Should we tell them how sad our dogs get when they see us having sex? How disturbed?”
“Well, I don’t know, it’s usually just afterwards, they’re like, um, what the f--k?” replied Katie.
“They’re traumatized,” added Tom. “Um, what have you done to each other? And what were those noises? That’s too far.”
“No, Tom. That’s TMI,” said Katie. “Sorry, Mom.”
